You know him as “the voice of reason” on the popular TV show Maine Cabin Masters. Now, you’ll get to know him in-person at the Maryland Fall Home & Garden + Craft Show, Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19. Ryan Eldridge, a part of the team of family and friends who renovate cabins and camps in Maine, will join his wife Ashley Morrill on stage to share tales and tips from their projects. They’ll also make suggestions for your home renovation and decorating projects.

Want to know a little about Ryan before meeting him at the Maryland Fall Home & Garden + Craft Show? We asked him a few questions:

What’s the most underrated tool in your toolbox?

Definitely a Multi-tool. How did we get by without these things??

What’s the best home improvement purchase for under $100?

A small tool kit with the basics. It will pay for itself in no time.

What’s your next design or renovation project?

I have to finish a pool house I started this summer before I can (or should) start anything else. When that is done, I have an old cabin that is in need of saving.

What’s the greatest joy is renovating homes and cabins for homeowners?

I love the moment when they express gratitude and appreciation for what you have worked so hard on.

What’s been the most rewarding project you’ve worked on?

I can’t pick one - we’re approaching 200 cabin projects, and so many of them have been rewarding in one way or another. It's always special to help non-profits, kids, and families that have had a rough go of things.

Who are your family pets?

Mandu and Lizard (cats), Charli and Trigger (dogs)

What is your favorite type of music to listen to when you’re working?

The good ole Grateful Dead.

What’s your favorite food to cook?

You do not want any of my cooking advice, trust me.
